September 11, 2001 is a day that will forever be etched in our memories.

Many of our Marines, Soldiers, Airmen and Seamen joined the military to combat those horrific forces that changed Americans forever. Combined with the tragedies that have fallen on law enforcement, firefighters and EMT heroes from that day forward, it is amazing that there are so many dedicated to continue to serve and protect us as citizens.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 at 5 p.m., Polk County has an opportunity to say THANKS to those who serve. Those who stand in the gap facing the enemy whether at home or abroad. Along with the event, MFPC will have the Third Annual Freedom Walk, a walk dedicated to all of Polk County's Military and First Responder Heroes. Our motto, "I walk in your honor because you serve in mine." is the symbolic way we as citizens can show our support for everything these fine men and women do on a daily basis.

Above is the flyer that we are asking you to share with everyone in your realm of influence. Please take a moment and post it on your Facebook page, email to all of your contacts and print it out to share with others.  Together, we can get the word out and show, in force, how much we care about these heroes who walk among us fighting for our freedoms and safety.

God Bless You and God Bless America.
