American Legion Post 4 is now collecting old cell phones to be used to help the National Sheriff’ Association, the National Association of Triads and the 911 Cell Phone Bank. These cell phones will be used to help seniors and victims of abuse in our community. The phones may be dropped off at the Post and put in a box on our show case in the club room, they will be reworked to use for 911 calls only and given at no charge to those in need.

American Legion Post #4, Lakeland, spent Sunday morning cleaning the veterans sections of Oak Hill Cemetery in Lakeland.  The grave markers were getting covered with leaves and dirt and some were very hard to read.  The American Legion Post 4 Auxiliary contacted the City Of Lakeland and made this a civic project.  They recruited other members from the American Legion Post 4 and the Son’s of American Legion, and members from the American Legion Riders.  Many hands showed up to clean and respect the Veterans of our past.  Great Job Legionnaires,

A Veteran - whether Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserve, is someone who at some point in their lives, wrote a blank check made payable to "The People of the United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life".

The Polk County Veterans Council
endeavors to unite all of Polk County's Veterans Organizations to better serve the
Men and Women whom have served our country so valiantly.
