Tie a Yellow Ribbon around the Old Oak tree
Tie a Yellow Ribbon around the Old Oak tree - was a song from the 1970's but the yellow ribbon is tied around the Old
Oak Tree and a few other trees at Veterans Memorial Park in Lakeland in honor of the deployment of the 2nd Battalion 116th
Field Artillery. The intent is to keep the ribbon tied around the trees until the return of our men and women of the
2/116 FA.
If you our your organization would like to help, we are making a schedule for the rest of the year to
replace the Yellow Ribbon every two months.
We would like to keep the Yellow Ribbon in good condition through out
the 2/116 FA deployment
